Started racing when I was 20 years old and been racing for 21 years. Started out in a leaf spring Camaro, then swapped to a Strut Camaro, and finally ended up in a Metric Car. I have always enjoyed the full body cars. My first 10 years of racing I raced Factory Stock and Street stock 5 minutes from the house at my home track of Crowleys Ridge Raceway. I also ventured 30 minutes down the road to Old No 1 Speedway many times racking up several wins at the two home tracks. Around 2013 I got an opportunity to drive for the Parish Family and that opened up a lot of opportunities. From that point forward we started Big Show Racing in Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Missouri. We would race 3 times a week and had a ton of success! In 2016 my son was born and I decided to slow down so we parted ways with the Parish Family and went out on our own. Also started building my own racecars around that time and have built my own stuff still to this day. Even though we slowed down myself and Scotty Childers (crew chief) still raced a good bit. The past 3 years we've been hitting Big money shows in the Poweri car and have also raced Blake Schmidt Crusa street stock. Crusa SS is a huge class very poplar in the South Eastern states. My Son Rhett Hays has been racing karts for the last 3 years as well. He is one heck of a wheelman with already 30+ feature wins and MARS Kart Championship. My plan is to keep racing the Poweri SS, hit as many money shows as we can, and take my son racing as much as he wants.

Career Highlights

Over the last 20 years we have racked up well over 100 feature events at local tracks as well as several money shows. I really enjoy winning the memorial races because you can connect with family and the race has a deeper meaning.
