Crate Racin’ USA Makes Schedule Adjustments

EASTABOGA, Ala. — Due to potential date conflicts with rescheduled events at various tracks across the Southeast region, a Sept. 25 appearance for the Newsome Raceway Parts-sponsored Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series at Needmore Speedway in Norman Park, Ga., has now been postponed to a later date.

The touring series was slated to appear at the Kelly and Mandy Walker-owned facility for a one-day engagement on Sept. 25, 2021, but series and track officials have agreed to postpone that date and add the race to the annual Earlybird weekend at the facility, which is scheduled Nov. 19-20 at the 3/8-mile oval.

A previously-scheduled $10,000-to-win event for the touring series at the track on Sat., Nov. 20 will now be a doubleheader weekend that includes an added $2,000-to-win contest on Nov. 19. The two-race weekend will close the season for the Adam Stewart-managed touring circuit.

“Weather has forced a few tracks to reschedule their events, which created some potential conflicts with our event at Needmore, and we felt it wouldn’t be in the best interest of the fans and drivers for all of us to attempt to race on the same weekend,” Stewart said. “We talked to the management at Needmore, and we agreed it was best to postpone this date, and to combine it with our previously-scheduled Nov. 20 appearance at the facility. That way we can present an even bigger show on their traditional Earlybird weekend, and our drivers can race twice in one weekend as our season comes to a close and our championship potentially gets decided. It’s been a very close points battle all season with a handful of different drivers having a legitimate shot at the $10,000 series title, and now with these changes it could all be decided at Needmore.”

Several other changes have been made to the schedule, including a date change for the previously-scheduled appearance at Boothill Speedway in Greenwood, La. The inaugural Battle at Boothill was postponed earlier this season due to potential gas shortages when the Colonial Pipeline was knocked offline, and that $10,000-to-win race will now be held at the track Oct. 14-16.

Other events affected earlier this season by inclement weather, including the season-opening Rumble on the Gumbo in early April at Greenville (Miss.) Speedway (which was rained out twice), and the Tomahawk Tussle originally slated June 11 at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, S.C., will not be rescheduled.

Ten races spread over six weekends remain on the calendar before a series champion is determined. Here is the remainder of the events this season on the Newsome Raceway Parts-sponsored Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series schedule:
