Banquet Canceled By Covid-19 Concerns

Adairsville, GA – Crate Racin’ USA officials have had to make the decision to cancel the 2020 Annual Awards Banquet and Southeastern Promoter’s Workshop that was scheduled for January 22-23, 2021 at the Gatlinburg Convention Center in Gatlinburg, TN. With current gathering restrictions in place and more pending as the number of COVID-19 cases are on the rise, series officials feel it is in the best interest of safety for the guests and to meet guidelines regarding social gatherings to cancel the event.

“I look forward to our Annual Awards Banquet each season as it gives us the opportunity to be away from the racetrack and honor those individuals who have put in the effort to secure a spot at the annual event,” stated Crate Racin’ USA Series Director Adam Stewart. “I also enjoyed the first year of moving the banquet to Gatlinburg and was looking forward to the mini-vacation that accompanies the banquet for many of the competitors, track and series officials.” Plans are to continue hosting the Annual Awards Banquet in 2022 at the Gatlinburg Convention Center.

All teams in the top 10 will be receiving all monies, prizes and awards that were scheduled to be handed out at the Annual Awards Banquet. Series officials are also working to put a plan in place to highlight the drivers inside the top 10 and post a “virtual” banquet in the coming weeks. Once officials have come up with a solid plan to recognize the Champions and Top 10, teams will be encouraged to participate in the virtual banquet. More information will be coming in the next week concerning distribution of awards and the virtual banquet.
