Alabama State Championship Set for This Weekend at East Alabama

Alabama State Championship Set for This Weekend at East Alabama

(Eastaboga, AL - September 17, 2025) – It’s State Race week in Phenix City, Alabama, as anticipation builds for the 53rd Annual Alabama State Championship at East Alabama Motor Speedway. The four-day racing tradition kicks off tomorrow September 18th, with an open practice session for all eight divisions.

For the third straight year, the Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Crate Racin' USA Dirt Late Model Series will headline the fall classic, bringing with it one of the Southeast’s richest and most prestigious $10,000-to-win events.

The past two editions of the Alabama State Championship have had a common theme—Chip Vineyard’s #17 CVR Race Car in victory lane. In 2023, Hayden Cardwell claimed the crown, followed in 2024 by veteran Randy Weaver of Crossville, Tennessee. With strong fields of 40+ entries in each of the last two seasons, all eyes will once again be on who can take the checkered flag this year—and whether Vineyard’s hot streak continues.

Events for the series will officially get underway on Saturday, September 20th, with MyRacePass/Fantasy Racing Hot Laps, followed by Bama Sheds & Pole Barns Pole Qualifying and the Chevrolet Performance Heat Races to close out the evening’s action. On Sunday, the Rogers-Dabbs Chevrolet B-Mains and the 50-lap, $10,000-to-win Alabama State Championship main event will round out the weekend.

Pine Mountain Valley, GA driver Joseph Brown collected his third victory of the 2025 season this past Saturday night at Waycross Motor Speedway and now sits third in the standings with one of his favorite tracks up next. Brown and the entire field continue to chase York, South Carolina’s Jeremy Steele, who has led the way since April. Bubba Roling, Matt Henderson, and Austin Yarbrough also remain inside the Top 5, each within 68 points of the lead, with five events still to go plus the bonus race at The Dirt Track at Charlotte, October 30th through November 1st.
