Joseph Brown Wins 2nd Annual Jeff Godbee Memorial at Waycross

Joseph Brown Wins 2nd Annual Jeff Godbee Memorial at Waycross

(Waycross, GA – September 13, 2025) – The Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series rolled into Waycross Motor Speedway on Saturday night, and by the end of 50 laps, the series crowned its first three-time winner of the 2025 season. Pine Mountain Valley, Georgia’s Joseph Brown captured the 2nd Annual Jeff Godbee Memorial, earning his fourth career series victory and third of the season. The win was worth $10,005, marking Brown’s second career five-figure payday with the tour.

Starting from the third position, Brown bided his time early before seizing the lead on lap 23 following a restart. The decisive move came after pole sitter Josh Ray had paced the field through the opening 22 circuits. Ray had set the tone for the night by earning the Bama Sheds & Pole Barns Fast Time Award and scoring his first-ever Chevrolet Performance Heat Race victory.

Brown credited both tire choice and timely cautions for helping him secure the win: “I went softer on tires than what they went on, and I knew if I could just stay with them for the first few laps of the race, I’d be fine,” Brown explained in victory lane. “We caught the tail end of the field towards the end of the race and the caution came out. Sometimes things just go your way, and they did tonight.”

Behind Brown, Bubba Roling put together another strong performance, charging from the sixth starting spot to finish runner-up. It was his fourth Top-5 of the year and yet another runner-up spot on the tour. Current series points leader Jeremy Steele rounded out the podium after a steady climb from the seventh starting position, keeping his championship momentum intact.

While Brown celebrated in victory lane, the night also marked a career milestone for Josh Ray. In addition to setting fast time and claiming his first Chevrolet Performance heat race win, Ray led the opening half of the feature before ultimately slipping to fourth at the checkered flag. Colby Quick completed the Top-5 finishers.
