(Eastaboga, AL – August 13, 2025) – The Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series is loading up and pointing the haulers toward a two-state, two-night showdown this weekend, as the tour takes on an Alabama–Georgia double-header that promises high stakes, history, and hometown pride.
Fresh off an action-packed $3,000-to-win stop at Dixie Speedway, the series makes its long-awaited return to Lafayette, Alabama’s Penton Raceway on Friday night, August 15, for a $2,500-to-win feature. It’s been nearly a decade since the tour last visited the 3/8-mile oval in 2016, marking Friday’s stop as the 12th all-time series appearance at the facility. That 2016 event saw Shep Lucas fend off a fierce challenge from the winningest duo in series history—Cory Hedgecock and Ronnie Johnson—to take the checkered flag.
Penton, which opened its gates back in 1981, boasts a winner’s list that reads like a who’s who of Crate Racin' USA talent. Names such as David Gentry, Derrick Rainey, William Thomas, Scott Knowles, Larry Harrod, Matthew Turner, and Ryan King have all etched their names into the record books here. With the series’ return, fans are eager to see which driver will add their name to that storied list.
From there, the action shifts east on Saturday, August 16, to the famed Senoia Raceway in Senoia, Georgia, for a $3,000-to-win battle on the track’s legendary grey clay surface. Known for its unique racing lines and elbows-out competition, Senoia has become a fan-favorite and a staple stop for the series, hosting its ninth event since 2011.
The most recent visit in 2024 delivered drama when rain forced the race to Sunday afternoon, where Zach Leonhardi claimed victory. Only one man—Austin Horton—has managed to win twice at Senoia in the past 14 years, with triumphs in 2022 and 2024. The rest of the winners’ roster is filled with diverse talent, including Dan Breuer, Wil Herrington, Jason Welshan, Tyler Millwood, and Matt Dooley, ensuring Saturday’s showdown will be anything but predictable.
Adding to the weekend’s intrigue, Clint Smith has posted a $1,000 bonus for the driver who earns the best average finish between the two races. That extra cash could play a pivotal role in how teams approach both nights, with points, pride, and payouts all on the line.
Jeremy Steele leads the CRUSA National Points heading into the weekend, holding a 22-point advantage over Matt Henderson, with Bubba Roling, Austin Yarbrough, and Jimmy Thomas rounding out the top five. In the Cruise with the Champions Rookie Standings, Steele also sits atop the leaderboard, ahead of Yarbrough and Koulten Herbert.
Fans unable to make the trip to Alabama and Georgia can still catch every lap live on CrateRacinUSA.TV, bringing all the double-header drama straight to living rooms and race shops across the country.
