(Clewiston, FL – February 21, 2025) – The highly anticipated opening night of the 3rd Annual Swamp Cabbage 100 at Hendry County Motorsports Park kicked off with electrifying action as drivers from across the nation took to the track for an unforgettable evening. Friday marked the first-ever visit by the Crate Racin’ USA Winter Shootout Series to the “Southern Most Dirt Track in the USA,” making it the fifth Florida venue to host the popular mini-series. The series, directed by Adam Stewart, has also visited iconic Florida tracks such as Volusia Speedway Park, East Bay Raceway Park, Ocala Speedway, and Southern Raceway.
A field of 32 talented competitors gathered for the night’s events, including some of the most well-known names in dirt track racing. The night began with Stakt Products by CV Racing Products time trials, where Evans, GA’s Cody Overton turned heads by setting the overall fastest lap, clocking in a blistering 14.630 in his Big Frog Motorsports #CO2 machine.
Time Trial Results:
Group 1: Devin Dixon (Apollo Beach, FL) topped the field with a 15.089.
Group 2: Pearson Lee Williams (Dublin, GA) led the pack with a 14.818.
Group 3: Wil Herrington (Hawkinsville, GA) set the pace in his group 3 14.774.

Chevrolet Performance Heat Races:
The night’s heat races set the stage for Saturday’s 75-lap main event. With the top four from each heat advancing directly into the finale, the competition was fierce.
Heat 1: Devin Dixon secured the win ahead of Dalton Peavy, Demetrios Drellos, and Chase Giddens, by leading all 10-laps.
Heat 2: Pearson Williams took the top spot, with Jason Garver, Nevin Gainey, and Christian Augspurger rounding out the top four.
Heat 3: Mark Whitener emerged victorious, with Wil Herrington, Austin Yarbrough, and Bubba Roling following closely behind in a very entertaining Heat 3.
Heat 4: Cody Overton captured the heat four win, leading Sam Seawright, Jake Rainey, and Payton Stevenson into tomorrow night’s feature race. Overton will have the pole for Saturday nights, 75-lap main event.
After time trials and the heat races, the rest of the field will be relegated to Saturday’s Rogers-Dabbs Chevrolet B-Mains, which will determine the final spots in the 75-lap Swamp Cabbage 100. Those not advancing directly from the heats will face intense competition in two B-Mains, where only the top 3 finishers will earn a spot in the finale.
The excitement will continue tomorrow with Pit gates opening at 9:00 AM, and the driver’s meeting at 4:30 PM, followed by a special Clyde Johnson parade lap and opening ceremonies.
