Randy Weaver scores the win at East Alabama

(Phenix City, AL - September 22, 2024) – Randy Weaver of Crossville, TN, collected the $10,000 payday in the 52nd Annual Alabama State Championship, marking his fifth career win in the Roger-Dabbs Performance Parts Crate Racin' USA Dirt Late Model Series.

Starting from the sixth position, Weaver kept a close eye on pole sitter Ricky Culpepper during the initial 15 laps. Multiple caution flags provided him with crucial opportunities to strategize and make his move. On one of the restarts, Weaver seized the lead and never looked back, piloting his #17 Chip Vineyard-owned CVR Race Car to victory lane, in fact the same car Hayden Cardwell drove to victory in this event last year.

In an emotional victory lane, Weaver reflected on the significance of the win. "Man, it feels good to come back here and win at a place that about ended me one time," he shared. He also acknowledged the role of the caution flags in his success, noting, "The motor got hot a couple of times, but the cautions came out at the right times." This victory marks Weaver's first win at East Alabama Motor Speedway since 2010 at East Bay Raceway Park.

With East Alabama now in the rearview, the Crate Racin' USA series now sets its sights on the Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, GA, for the Inaugural Daniel Lambert Memorial this Friday and Saturday night. The event will feature a $10,000 grand prize and will also highlight thrilling races from the 602 Late Model Bandits, Street Stocks, and Cop Stock divisions.
