Crate Racin' USA at Waycross Postponed Due to Hurricane Francine

Crate Racin' USA at Waycross Postponed Due to Hurricane Francine

(Eastaboga, AL – September 12, 2024) – Officials from Waycross Motor Speedway and the Crate Racin' USA Dirt Late Model Series have announced the postponement of this Saturday’s highly anticipated event due to the forecast of severe weather conditions as a result of Hurricane Francine.

After closely monitoring the unpredictable weather patterns and considering the significant travel costs for the touring teams, both parties have mutually agreed that postponing the event is the most prudent decision. The rain from hurricane Francine has created uncertainty for the entire southeast, making it necessary to postpone the series' return to Waycross Motor Speedway.

Track and Series officials are exploring options for a make-up date. An announcement regarding any scheduling updates will be made at a later date.

This event, which was scheduled to be the 12th race of the 2024 season and the next event in the Crate Racin' USA $100,000+ Challenge, was also notable as the first appearance of the series at the South Georgia facility since 2015. Fans and teams alike were looking forward to this exciting return, but safety and logistical concerns have led to this difficult decision, with hopes of a make up date possible.

Looking ahead, the Crate Racin' USA Dirt Late Model Series will next head to the 52nd Annual Alabama State Championships at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL. Scheduled for September 21st and 22nd, this prestigious event will once again offer a $10,000 winner’s purse. Last season, Hayden Cardwell took home his first career series victory and the $10,000 payday. The 2024 edition promises to deliver equally thrilling action, with prelims on Saturday and the main event on Sunday.
