EASTABOGA, Ala. (Oct. 31) — Three races remain on the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series, and the next stop for competitors on the Adam Stewart-managed touring circuit will be a $10,000-to-win event scheduled Nov. 3-5, 2022, at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Miss.
It’s the second annual version of the event, which drew a strong 58-car field during the inaugural edition of the race last year. The field whittled itself down to a spicy Mark Whitener-Spencer Hughes duel for the victory, and the pair swapped the lead numerous times with a slide-job trading affair that was among the touring circuit’s most entertaining races of the season.
“Historically it’s a track that races extremely well, and we’re hoping for another event that shows how truly competitive that facility can be,” series director Adam Stewart said. “It’s one of the core racetracks for our Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series, and this event gives us a chance to showcase it to an even wider audience on Crate Racing USA.TV, with live coverage scheduled all weekend.
“We installed this event on our schedule last season, and we weren’t honestly expecting it to be such a huge success. It did well enough that we’re coming back with it again this year, and we’re all looking forward to a great event.”
Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series (Upcoming Schedule)
Nov. 3-5: Magnolia Motor Speedway, Columbus, Miss.
Nov. 17-19: Needmore Speedway, Norman Park, Ga.
Nov. 24-26: Cochran (Ga.) Motor Speedway
Maryville, Tenn., driver Jason Welshan is the current series points leader, and holds a semi-comfortable, 160-marker advantage [1,482-1,322] over Jake Knowles of Rome, Ga., while Jake Rainey [1,302], Matthew Brocato [1,164], and Jimmy Thomas [1,156] complete the top five in the chase for the regular series title.
The E-Z-GO $100,000+ Challenge is a collection of races on the regular series that all pay (at least) $10,000 to the winner, and pays the top five finishers in the standings at the end of the season. There is $5,000 tabbed for the overall champion.
But first…Magnolia. It’s coming soon, and won’t be one to miss!
